Seasonal AdvantagesNew Zealand colostrum is only produced during a single three-month period every year. During this limited period of time, the best source of Colostrum is from the early milk (first 2 milkings) of pasture fed, non-hyperimmunised, healthy New Zealand cows. Same Day Processing Ensures Biological ActivityMIP Colostrum is collected and transported in a fresh chilled state from farms straight to the processing plant. This is made possible due to the aforementioned seasonal advantages, so there is enough stock for same day processing. This is a critical production advantage, because gentle handling, low temperature collection and same day processing technology preserve the active ingredients of MIP Colostrum. Calf’s needs are always met first. Other colostrum’s are collected in batches (especially 6 hour colostrum), until there is enough to process. This means it must be stored for long periods of time before processing can commence, so it is frozen. Rapid freezing and rapid thawing techniques prior to processing cause damage to the protein molecules, which in turn compromise the biological activity of the Colostrum.
Sourced from the South Island of New ZealandMIP Colostrum is sourced from grass-fed cows so they spend their time in the outdoors and are never placed in any location that would restrict the amount of space that is available to them.

This is because pasture raised cows are more exposed to the elements.

Every country has different regulations and practice standards that overlook and monitor the raising of cows. Strict New Zealand quality standards ensure New Zealand MIP Colostrum is free from preservatives, antibiotics and other food additives. It is also free of rBST(synthetic hormones), which is not licensed for use in dairy cows by the NZ FoodSafety Authority. MIP Colostrum contains no genetically modified organisms, plants or animal products. Our vegetarian capsules are made from cellulosic raw materials that satisfy both vegetarian and cultural needs. These vegetable capsules are easy to swallow, starch-free, gluten-free and preservative-free so they meet the strict dietary needs of customers that choose a vegetarian lifestyle.
Quality AssuranceStrict quality control procedures are enforced during the manufacturing of MIP Colostrum. Final product is sampled and tested for chemical, sensory and microbial parameters using internationally recognised procedures in an ISO 17025 certified laboratory. During storage and shipment, precautions are taken to ensure that product quality is maintained. Each package is giving a batch number to enable trace back. Manufacturing premises operate under a Risk Management Programme approved by NZ Food Safety Authority. This programme incorporates a HACCP programme and certification to ISO 22000 and 14001. The bottling plant is GMP certified.
